Metallogenic Geological Conditions and Regularity of Magmatic Cu-Ni Sulfide Deposits in the Altyn-East Kunlun Orogenic Belt,Xinjiang
Based on the distribution of basic-ultrabasic rocks and the progress of Cu-Ni ore prospecting in Altun and East Kunlun orogenic belt,Xinjiang, the paper reviews the characteristics and metallogenic regularity of Cu-Ni deposits in this area, and points out the future prospecting direction. The results show that the mineralization periods of the Cu-Ni deposits in the Aljin-East Kunlun orogenic belt can be divided into four periods:Proterozoic(1118 Ma),Ordovician-De-vonian(465-405 Ma),Permian(~270 Ma)and Triassic(~244 Ma).The Proterozoic Cu-Ni mineralization is mainly relat-ed to hydrothermal processes. The latter three stages are mainly related to magmatic dissociation and superposed with hy-drothermal mineralizaiton. The Ordovician and Devonian mantle-derived magmatic activity is widespread near the Altun southern margin fault and its secondary fault, with clear lithofacies zonation, sufficient magmatic differentiation, and they are of great metallogenic prospects. It is the preferred direction to search for Cu-Ni sulfide deposits in the Altun East Kunlun area, but due to the influence of tectonic processes, the ferric basic-ultrabasic rocks coexist with the magnesia pe-ridotite of the ophiolite suite in this period in the same space,so it is necessary to strengthen the comprehensive evalua-tion of the ferric-ultrabasic rock mass in this period. At the same time, the Permian-Triassic intrusions is dominated by gabbro, but the ultramafic rocks have been found to contain copper-nickel mineralized bodies,so the Permian-Triassic in-trusions has certain prospecting prospects, and is the secondary direction of searching for copper-nickel ore in this area.
