Characteristics and Significance of the Late Cretaceous Yuqi Formation in Yuqi Area,Northern Tarim Basin
Since the Late Cretaceous Fossil Charophyta assemblage was discovered in Sha50 well and Yuqi1 well in the Upper Cretaceous Yuqi Formation in the northern Tarim Basin before 2010,the research has stalled due to the lack of data.In recent years,the innovation of methods and technologies,a breakthrough has been made in the study of the Yuqi Formation in the Yuqi area.The sequence division and correlation criteria of the Yuqi Formation have been formed through the comparative study of the Upper Cretaceous Fossil Charophyta assemblage and the characteristics of logging facies and rock facies,The sequence stratigraphic framework of the Yuqi Formation has been established in the area for the first time,and its distribution Characteristics have been discussed.
