Coalbed Methane Reservoir Physical Characteristics and Favorable Coal Seam Optimization in Manas River-Santun River area
The understanding of the physical properties of coal reservoirs is the key to the efficient exploitation of coal-bed methane.Based on the comprehensive collection of basic geological reports and core experimental test results in the Manas River-Santun River area of the Coalfield in southern Junggar Basin,a variety of mathematical analysis methods were used to systematically analyze the physical properties of coalbed methane reservoirs in the study area.At the same time,a favorable exploration coal seam optimization system in the study area was constructed and the favorable coal seams were optimized. The results show that the No.B3、B4 and B5 coal seams of Xishanyao Formation are the main coal seams in the study area. The average recoverable thickness is large, the macroscopic coal rock type is semi-dark coal, the organic macerals are mainly vitrinite, the gas content and methane concentration are high, the coal rock adsorp-tion is good, the pore fracture development degree is general, the permeability is low,and the roof and floor lithology are mostly carbonaceous mudstone and siltstone.Nine geological factors were selected as the second-level decision-making indexes from the conditions of coalbed methane resources, coal reservoirs and coalbed methane preservation. The subjec-tive weight was calculated by analytic hierarchy process and classified, and a favorable exploration coal seam optimiza-tion system suitable for the study area was established. On the basis of the evaluation system, the weighted summation method is used to optimize the No.B3 coal seam as the pre-mining coal seam in the study area, which provides guidance for the exploration and development direction of coalbed methane in the Manas River-Santun River area of the Coalfield in southern Junggar Basin.
