The internal mechanism,problems and countermeasures of Guangdong and Hong Kong and Macao to build a world-class tourist destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
Multiple regions in China have set development goals to transform themselves into world-class tourist destinations,reflecting the significant real-world demand for the development of the tourism industry.The"14th Five-Year"plan for culture and tourism in Guangdong Province explicitly proposes cooperation with Hong Kong and Macau to jointly promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a world-class tourism destination.This study focuses on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,exploring the research question of how to develop it into a world-class tourist destination.Through reviewing relevant materials and field research,the study summarizes the internal mechanisms of role positioning and development models in the Bay Area.It analyzes four major issues in the construction of a world-class tourist destination in the Bay Area:the uncertainty factors of the world tourism market,the political barriers between Guangdong,Hong Kong,and Macau that are difficult to break in the short term,the mismatch of various supporting elements in the Bay Area with world-class standards,and the competition among international and domestic provinces to develop world-class tourist destinations.Finally,the article proposes practical innovation strategies from five perspectives:image shaping,boutique creation,facility improvement,quality service,and green ecology.
