Research on the Path to Improve the Modernization Level of Regional Industrial Chain——A Case Study on the Experience of the Robot Industry Chain in Foshan City,Guangdong Province
The essence of industrial chain modernization is the improvement of core capabilities of enterprises,and its results are reflected in the changes in the enterprises' labor division roles in the global industrial chain.From the perspective of latecomer economies,the initial roles of enterprises in the global industrial chain labor division are usually general subcontractors and raw material suppliers.Starting from this,enterprises can shift to four types of labor division roles:leading subcontractors,core producers,key suppliers,and end sellers.This role transformation represents four different paths to promote the modernization of regional industrial chains.The experience of the development of the robotics industry in Foshan City,Guangdong Province shows that the practical path of modernizing the regional industrial chain is not only influenced by the general characteristics mentioned above,but also by the characteristics of different types of industries,showing a certain degree of differentiation.
