Rivalry and Coopetition between cross-sector entrant and incumbent:Constructing an analyticalframework based on literature review
With the revolution of emerging technology, market demand, industry structure and other changes in the environment,the"cross-border competition"caused by cross-industry entry becomes more and more frequent. However, existing theories such as dynamic competition can't help any party in"cross-border competition"to effectively predict and choose whether"cross-border"competition or"cross-border"cooperation and make dynamic decisions based on this.Starting from two dimensions of market and resource, this paper explores an interactive analysis framework that determines the competition or cooperation between cross-border entrants and incumbents.Based on the review and analysis of previous studies, this paper summarizes the key factors that determine the final choice of competition or cooperation between cross industry entrants and incumbents under the market and resource dimensions, and constructs an analytical framework to analyze the dynamic competition between cross industry entrants and incumbents.Under the framework, the paper discusses the most inclined competition or cooperation behaviors of cross-industry entrants and incumbents in the context of different combinations of factors. Finally, this article discusses the competitive strategies of incumbents or cross-industry entrants to strengthen or change the state of competition or cooperation between the two parties.Based on the previous dynamic competition theory, this paper puts forward the dynamic analysis framework of cross-industry entrants and incumbents, and discusses the competition and cooperation decision-making of enterprises in the context of"cross-border competition"and the implicit competitive strategies behind them.
