Influence of Cross-border E-commerce on Chinese Intra-industry Trade:An Empirical Analysis Based on Cross-border E-commerce Policy
Cross-border E-commerce(CBEC),as a new form of trade generated by"Internet+international trade",is an important source of growth for our country's international trade.Accompanying international trade pattern and industry change,the internal industry trade factors also advance one step to expand.Based on a series of CBEC related policies intensively introduced in China in 2012,this paper use difference-in-difference to study the influence of Cross-border E-commerce on Chinese intra-industry trade.Results show that CBEC has significant effect on increasing intra-industry trade between China and other countries.The further mechanism analysis suggests that CBEC promotes the growth of intra-industry trade by reducing transaction and search costs and increasing the diversity of trade products.This paper provides a new perspective for analyzing the influencing factors of intra-industry trade development,and also provides empirical support for China high-quality trade development goals of deepening cooperation and sharing win-win through the development of cross-border e-commerce.
