The labor education in American elementary and junior high schools is heavily influenced by prag-matic theory in education,and the contents of the education is closely connected with career preparation and voluntary service.Focusing on career experience and guidance,it integrates different disciplines to carry out project-based learning,combines social resources to cultivate civic consciousness,and emphasizes technologi-cal innovation.In the labor education,students can get career preparation and skills to make a living in the fu-ture.The experiences of the American labor education can bring some implication for the practice of China's labor education innovation in primary and secondary and secondary vocational schools,which includes con-necting labor education with vocational one,enhancing students'labor skills;integrating the curriculum of la-bor education with other disciplines and carrying out project-based learning in primary and secondary schools.Additionally,this article suggests that it is up to the schools to construct co-breeding mechanism and strengthen community supporting system and emphasize the application by hands as well as brain to cultivate innovative thinking.
