Isolation and Identification of the Antagonistic Bacteria against Walnut canker in Xinjiang
[Objective] Walnut canker disease (Cytospora chrysosperma) has become one of the important diseases which restricts the healthy development of walnut industry in Xinjiang.Biological control is beneficial to the construction of the ecological health of orchard in Xinjiang.[Method] Methods, such as plate screening, flat confrontation culture, antagonistic experiment and phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA were used.[Result] The mycelium shape and the bacterial colony, physiological and biochemistry experiments and determination of the sequence of 16S rDNA of the fungi had been done. The strain XJAU-117 was identified as Bacillus pumilus.[Conclusion] The result shows that the strain XJAU-117 with significant antagonistic effect to Cytospora chrysosperma could provide potential solution for biological control of Walnut canker.
