The manufacturing risk was an inherent attribute of weapon and equipment development projects,and in or-der to achieve effective management of manufacturing risk caused by immature manufacturing capability based on manufac-turing maturity model,the background and core connotation of the US manufacturing maturity model were introduced.From the perspective of model application,it was proposed that a technical route and specific application plan for the applica-tion of manufacturing maturity model,and we introduced the key links such as the selection of manufacturing capability ele-ments,the refinement and concretization of assessment criteria,the design of assessment checklist,and the design of manu-facturing risk management template,and by using a certain model of product as an example,we introduced the specific ap-plication process of the model.Finally,we summarized the relevant suggestions for the application the manufacturing matu-rity model in order to promote the practical application of the model.
