Effects of Binder and Titanium Carbide Contents on Microstructure and Properties of TiC Steel Bonded Carbide
Based on the practice of large-scale production of titanium carbide steel bonded carbide,we discussed the effects of different binders and varying levels of titanium carbide content on the microstructure and macroscopic properties of the Steel bonded carbide. The experiment indicated that the steel bonded carbide achieved high density and met the expected structure and performance when in the same compression molding process with different binders and vacuum sintering at 1380-1420℃.However,relatively speaking, the performance of products using a rubber-based binder was more stable.Steel bonded carbides with different titanium carbide content also met the expected structure and performance when vacuum sintered was at 1350-1420℃.With the increasing in the uniformity of titanium carbide distribution in the matrix, the parti-cle morphology was more and more regular.
