Abstract
The ancient Western Regions was the intersection of the overland Silk Road and an important hinterland for Chinese civilization to move westward.Since Zhang Qian of the Western Han Dynasty opened the route in the Western Regions, the"scholars"of the Central Plains have brought calligraphy art here.Due to the dry climate,a large number of calligraphy inscriptions in the Wei and Jin dynasties were buried underground. After being unearthed in the 20th century, they made up for the deficiency of calligraphy inscriptions composed in the Wei and Jin dynasties in the Central Plains region. They have contribute significantly to the recompiling of the history of Chinese calligraphy.
