Abstract
The suspense comedy film Man Jianghong directed by Zhang Yimou triggered a boom and ranked number one at box office in the film market during the 2023 Spring Festival.The film also initiated a heated debate on social media.There are many reasons why the film Man Jianghong can stand out from the competition in the film market during the 2023 Spring Festival.Drawing on specific historical context,the film skillfully constructs a behind-the-scene story about how Yue Fei's patriotic poem Man Jianghong is known to people.The stiring and touching film presents the integrity and heroism of small potatoes in the face of the threat to their homeland in a suspenseful way.The film focuses on foregrounding the characters'personalities and skillfully using details to develop dramatic conflicts and enhance narrative charm.The film uses various expressive elements,combining humor with solemnity and employing tension and relaxation deftly.A large audience are attracted into the cinema with its highly successful story construction and dramatic details.
