Four Quadrants of the Discourse on Architectural Environmental Regulation
Looking back at the discourse and practice of architectural environmental regulation since Modernism,a coordinate model with a systematic framework of"nature, architecture, and human"as the latitude and the two dimensions of"mechanism"and"organism"as the longitude,is established to locate paradigms, values and techniques.Four quadrants are classified under different logic-driven explanations, serving as a theoretical framework to analyze the division and shift of paradigms of building environment regulation from a historical perspective, and revealing the inheritance and differences in relation to modern environmental issues.By shaping the underlying structure of the discourse system of architectural environmental regulation,we can explore its potential and possibilities in unifying architectural ontology.
