From Tradition to the Future:Theoretical and Practical Exploration of Traditional Residence in Cold Regions in Jilin Jianzhu University
The research on traditional residences in cold regions by the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Jilin Jianzhu University commenced in the 1960s.This article reviews the academic research history and research directions of the school's traditional residence research team in cold regions in recent years.It mainly encompasses research on the architectural form of residences,research on the architectural culture of residences,and the value excavation and protection of traditional villages.Currently,the team actively responds to Jilin Province's"Ecologically Strong Province"strategy to assist rural revitalization.It focuses on excavating the ecological wisdom in traditional villages in cold regions and proposes"three lows and one high"disaster prevention methods that are coordinated with the natural environment.Moreover,it conveys the sustainable philosophy of ecological wisdom through popular science dissemination,talent training in universities and society,thereby providing intellectual support for subsequent living inheritance and development.
