Influence Mechanism of Street Environment on Stay Activities from the Perspective of Safety Perception:A Case Study of Xiamen
Streets serve as the primary public spaces for urban residents.Residents'perception of street safety is an important prerequisite for promoting residents'engagement in street activities and an important basis for improving the street environment. With the case of two commercial mixed streets in Xiamen, this paper obtains the index data of safety perception, street environment and stay activities and explores the intrinsic mechanism of action among street environment, safety perception and stay activity through the path model of partial least square method. The results show that street functional formats have a positive and significant impact on safety perception, while scale interface and furniture greening have a negative and significant impact on safety perception.Safety perception plays an intermediary role in the influence mechanism of street environment on their stay activities.Differences in individual attributes such as gender and age will also make the path effect of the influencing mechanism different.According to the research results, the paper proposes an optimization strategy for the street environment in order to contribute to urban renewal and high-quality development of urban spaces.
