Residential areas in urban contexts are integral to children's growth and development,but such spaces are still confronted with many challenges.The continuing decline in birth rates has exacerbated the pre-existing contradiction between the availability of urban space and the need to create child-friendly areas.This article presents a case study of Shanghai Quyang Village,employing architectural programming techniques and on-site surveys.It aims to discuss the complexities and obstacles in the design of child-friendly residential areas and systematically identify the key issues that impede the establishment of child-friendly neighborhoods in Shanghai.Through careful analysis of these problems,the article offers corresponding solutions as a valuable reference for the construction of child-friendly urban settlements.
