Parent-Child Separation and Adolescents'Aggression:The Life History Theory Perspective
To explore the relationship between parent-child separation and aggression in adolescents,as well as the mediating role of environmental unpredictability and fast life history strategy,a questionnaire survey was conducted to measure parent-child separation, environmental unpredictability, fast life history strategy, and aggression in 669 adolescents. The results indicated:(1)Parent-child sep-aration,environmental unpredictability and fast life history strategies, and aggression were all significantly positively correlated with each other.(2)The relationship between parent-child separation and aggression was significantly mediated by environmental unpredictabili-ty and fast life history strategies.Parent-child separation may indirectly influence adolescents'aggression through chain mediators of environmental unpredictability and fast life history strategy. This conclusion provides a basis for scientifically preventing and effectively controlling aggressive behavior in adolescents who have experienced parent-child separation.
