Insights into Time Perception Characteristics among Adolescents with Anxiety Disorders through Explicit and Implicit Temporal Tasks
Emotion and temporal processing are closely intertwined, often resulting in distorted perceptions of time under conditions of e-motional disturbance. In this study, temporal bisection and foreperiod tasks were employed to measure the performance of adolescents with anxiety disorders and two control groups in both explicit and implicit timing. Results indicated that the group with anxiety disorders showed longer response times and stronger foreperiod effects compared to the control groups, indicating abnormalities in their implicit processing of temporal information.Overall, these findings contribute to our comprehension of the cognitive traits present in individuals with anxiety disorders.
