In the digital era,establishing an effective digital economic policy system is crucial for China to build a modern in-dustrial system and achieve high-quality economic development.This article compiles and analyzes a comprehensive set of digital e-conomy policies from 207 prefecture-level cities in China,covering the years 2013 to 2019.It employs a difference-in-differences method to assess the impact of these digital economy policies on the upgrading of industrial structures.The findings indicate that the introduction of digital economy policies significantly promotes the advancement and rationalization of regional industrial structures.In terms of the influencing mechanisms,the impact of digital economy policies on industrial structure upgrading primarily relies on the scale expansion effect of the digital economy,while the potential industrial innovation effect lacks statistical significance.Heteroge-neity tests reveal that different types of digital economy policies significantly contribute to the upgrading of industrial structures.Fur-thermore,the effect of digital economy policies on industrial advancement is notable across the eastern,central,and western re-gions,whereas the effect on industrial rationalization is significant only in the eastern region.
