Establishment on Commonly Used Antimicrobials Epidemiological Cut-off Values of Mycoplasma synoviae
Mycoplasma synoviae(MS)is one of the most detrimental mycoplasmas in the large-scale poultry industry.Meanwhile, the development of antimicrobial resistance to MS is serious currently. In order to understand the current situation of antimicrobial resistance to MS,the re-search was conducted in reference to the method of establishing epidemiological/wildtype cut-off values(ECOFFs/COWT)in CLSI and EUCAST by collecting and summarizing MIC from differ-ent regions and sources in recent 5 years after searching relevant literature reports at home and abroad, and then the ECOFFs of various antimicrobial agents to MS were obtained through com-prehensive analysis using visual estimation,ECOFFFinder software analysis and Normalized Drug Resistance Interpretation(NRI).Subsequently, the corresponding drug resistance rates were calculated. It showed that the ECOFFs of MS to tylosin,tilmicosin,tylvalosin,doxycyc-line,oxytetracycline,chlortetracycline,tiamulin,lincomycin,florfenicol and spectinomycin were 1,0.5,0.5,2,4,2,2,2,8 and 4 μg·mL-1 respectively. In absence of sensitive breakpoint of MS in CLSI and ECUAST,the theoretical basis and scientific evidence are provided by this re-search for the rational use of drugs in clinical practice, development of antimicrobial resistance work for monitoring and reducing it,and also beneficial for the treatment and control of MS.
