Effect of different levels of Chinese herbal additive on the growth performance and muscle quality in the Xiang pig
The growth performance and muscle nutritive value in the Xiang pig by adding different levels of Chinese herbal additive ( CHA:0. 3% and 0.4% ) were compared and analyzed. Compared with the control group, the daily gain was increased by 42. 98% and 30. 06% with adding 0. 3% and 0. 4% levels of CHA; feed gain ratio decreased by 12. 80% (P<0. 05) and 12. 07% (P<0. 05). The pH24 , water loss rate, crude protein, crude fat and eye muscle area were significantly increased ( P<0. 05) by adding CHA; the delicious amino acid increased by 28. 37% , essential amino-acids increased by 28. 75% by adding 0. 4% level of CHA; essential fatty-acids increased by 2. 70% and 4. 92% by adding 0. 3% and 0. 4% level of CHA. The contents of linolenic acid, asia oleic acid and arachidonic acid were increased by 2. 41% and 2. 67% , 3. 68% and 5. 12% , 3. 51% and 19. 12% , respectively by adding 0. 4% and 0. 5% levels of CHA compared with the control group.
