Effect of semi-open henhouse temperature and humidity on performance of laying hens in winter seasons
The experiment was conducted to study the effect of temperature and humidity on the performance of laying hens in semi-open henhouse in winter seasons.Hyline gray commercial layers of 2 520 at 62-week-old according to the longitudinal direction of the henhouse were divided into air inlet, middle and oudet groups, each with 12 repetitions,70 chickens each repetition.According to the vertical direction of the henhouse, upper, middle and lower groups were divided with 12 replicates of 70 chickens. The results showed that the average temperature in winter was 11.6 ℃,the middle group temperature was 12.5 ℃,followed by the air inlet with average temperature of 11.2 ℃ and outlet with an average temperature of 11 ℃.In addition, the humidity changed from 45% to 50%,the middle group> outlet group> air inlet group.Temperature and humidity showed a significant positive correlation (P<0.001).The average feed consumption, average egg weight, egg production, feed to egg ratio did not show any significant difference among air inlet, middle and outlet groups (P>0.05).The average temperature in the upper group was higher 1.9 ℃ compared with middle group, the average temperature in the middle group was higher 2.6 ℃ compared with lower group; the average humidity in the middle group was higher 0.6% compared with upper group, the average humidity in the middle group was higher 1.6% compared with lower group; feed consumption and average egg weight in lower group were significantly higher than the upper and middle group (P<0.05),egg production rate and feed to egg ratio did not show any significant differences among the upper, middle, lower groups (P>0.05).In summary, the changes of temperature and humidity in winter semi-open henhouse could be adjusted by the laying hens, therefore, the performance of laying hens were not affected significantly.
