On the Change of Traffic Trunk from Qujing to the Dian Lake Areas of the Southern Silk Road
The end of the WuchiRoad of the Southern Silk Road is ancient Wei County, now Qujing City,Yunnan Province. The road leading to the Dian Lake areas in Wei county is also an important official road. There are actually two routes in this section. One is Malong—Songming Road, whichis first westbound, then southwestbound, and finally arrive in the northern plain of Dian Lake;one is Luliang—Yiliang Road, which is first southbound, then westbound, and finally arrive in the eastern plain of Dian Lake.Since the Han and Jin Dynasties, these two roads have been divided into primary and secondary.Basically, before the rise of Nanshao Kingdom, the Luliang-Yiliang Road was the first avenue, while after the rise of Nanshao, the status of Malong—Songming Road gradually increased. In the Yuan Dynasty,Malong-Songming Road once became the road of the Yuan government's planning, and its status was further strengthened. However, until the 28th year of Hongwu Years of Ming Dynasty,Malong-Songming Road really became the official martyrdom with complete establishment and commuting ability, and officially replaced Luliang-Yiliang Road as the first avenue between Qujing and the Dian Lake areas. This has both the direct proof of the literature and the corroboration of the toponymic data obtained from the front line investigation.
