How does Household Electronic Media Cultural Capital affect Children's Behavioral Problems?—Analysis of Chain Mediation Model Based on 8,057 Samples of Children Aged 3~6
In order to explore the influence and mechanism of household electronic media cultural capital on preschool children's behavioral problems,8,057 preschool children aged 3~6 and their parents are investigated in the present study.The results show that:(1)There are significant differences in some dimensions of behavioral problems among children of different genders and ages,while there are significant differences in household electronic media cultural capital,children's media practice,sleep quality,and behavioral problems for children of different parities;(2)Parents'own media usage habits are significantly positively correlated with children's media practices,sleep quality,and behavioral problems.Parental media intervention is significantly positively correlats with children's media practice,and negatively correlats with children's sleep quality,conduct problems and psychosomatic problems,but does not correlats with the other three dimensions:learning problems,impulsivity-hyperactivity,and anxiety;(3)Parents'own media use habits and parental media intervention indirectly affect children's behavioral problems through children's media practice and sleep quality.Based on the above results,parents should pay attention to the reproduction mode of electronic media cultural capital in the family,and give full play to the power of beneficial electronic media cultural capital.
