Discourse Construction of Modern Concept of Child:A Research Based on Pluralistic Discourse Analysis Perspectives
As a discourse reality,the modern concept of child experiences the construction of modern"episteme",which makes child's subjectivity encounter the definition of grandiose narration.Based on the theory of pluralistic discourse analysis,this study combs the discourse rules behind the modern concept of child,then uncovers the"child image"under the discourses of different"speakers",and looks into the process and mechanism of"discourse"constructing"child".The research finds that the modern concept of child experiences the double construction of normative discourse and emotional discourse.Under the discourse of the state,school,family and market,child is constructed as the"communist successor",the"inheritor"of ordered society,the"little emperor"with priceless emotions and the"consumer"of the commodity world,immersed in a childhood entangled by multiple expectations.In view of this,taking into account the real-life situations in which child lives becomes a necessary way to re-understand them.The inclusion of child outside the standard image,the discovery of child in social life,and the understanding of child between two cultures not only avoids falling into agnostic accusations,but also helps to reflect the power of discourse logic,forming an open understanding of child.
