An Analysis of Urban-Rural Difference and Its Influencing Factors in Kindergarten Principals'Leadership
The leadership of kindergarten principals is a key factor that determines the quality of kindergarten education.Using literature analysis and Delphi method, the model of kindergarten principal's leadership including four dimensions of school cultural leadership, human resources leadership, care and education leadership, and administrative leadership is constructed.Based on this model, the Kindergarten Principals'Leadership Questionnaire is designed.By analyzing 2,177 valid samples using SPSS 26.0,the results indicate that the overall level of self-perceived leadership of kindergarten principals in China is relatively high, nevertheless while the kindergarten principals'leadership is unevenly distributed among these dimensions, kindergarten principals vary to a large extent on the leadership level from person to person, and from location to location.Statistically significant differences are found in the overall leadership, all dimensions and measuring indicators of leadership between urban and rural kindergarten principals, with urban kindergarten principals performing better than their rural counterparts.Factors such as position, age, teaching experience, professional title, and the nature, level, location, scale of the kindergarten, and the frequency of annual training for the principal can predict the level of leadership.Based on the research findings, measures for improving the leadership of urban and rural kindergarten principals are proposed.
