Research advances of cancer stem cells in Wilms tumor
Wilms tumor(WT)is one of the common abdominal tumors in children. After adequate postoperative chemoradiotherapy, its survival rate may surpass 90%.As a small fraction of tumor cells within tumor tissue, cancer stem cells have an inherent capability of self-renewal and are closely correlated with its occurrence, recurrence and drug resistance. This review focused upon the relationship between WT and cancer stem cells, the relevant biomarkers of tumor stem cells in WT and the potentials of targeted therapy for WT to provide references for clinical practices.
