Virtual Digital Humans:A New"Anchor Point"in the Perspective of Memetics——Concept,Characteristics,and Applications of Virtual Digital Humans in the Perspective of Memetics
Since Richard Dawkins proposed the concept of"memes"in the 1970s,the development of memetics theory has gone through the stages of"biological metaphor"and"cultural studies,"and gradually formed the"multimodal intelligent"stage driven by Al technology since 2020.Possessing human characteristics and being interactive new media,"virtual digital hu-mans"have become a new anchor point in the third stage.This study,from the perspective of memetics,analyzes the concept and characteristics of virtual digital humans;at the same time,combining with the current popular applications such as virtual i-dols,digital employees,virtual anchors,etc.,it discusses how memes change our information processing methods and affect so-cial production and life through"virtual digital humans",providing a new perspective for analyzing the value,applications,and evolution of virtual digital humans.
