The Moral Issues of Organ Donation from the Perspective of Confucian Responsibility Ethics
The emergence of human organ transplantation technology inevitably raises multiple moral issues such as organ source and transplantation risk.In a society where Confucianism is taken as the mainstream philosophy,human organ donation should be justified by Confucian ethics.In this way,such donations can gain widespread social recognition,the ethical disputes about human organ donation can be resolved and the voluntary donation rate of organs can be increased in China.This article aims to expound the connotation of Confucian responsibility ethics and its ethical significance to human organ donation from four dimen-sions of Confucian benevolence and righteousness,benevolence and filial piety,righteousness and benefit and life and death,and expound that inheriting and carrying forward Confucian responsibility ethics is an effective way to improve the voluntary organ donation rate.
