Commercial Lease of Land and Related Issues in the Manchuria-Mongolia Treaty Between the Republic of China and Japan
In 1915,in the"Twenty-one Provision"requirement,Japan put forward that it should enjoy a"superior position"in the South Manchuria and East of Inner Mongolia. The Manchuria-Mongolia treaty between the Republic of China and Japan contained provisions on land lease and related issues. After the signing of the treaty,Japan tried to expand the geographical scope of the interests, and made every effort to turn the provisions of the treaty into real rights and interests, which became a typical manifestation of Japan's immigration aggression and substantial land possession in Northeast China. However,Japan obviously underestimated China's will and counter-ability to fight.Because the land rent and related rights and interests that Japan demanded seriously endangered China's sovereignty, they were strongly resisted by China, which led to the failure of Japan's aggressive plot to a great extent.
