Rethinking the Theoretical Connotation and Academic Value of the Materialist Conception of History
The materialist conception of history is one of the two major scientific discoveries made by Marx during his lifetime,and is the most valuable theoretical creation in the history of human thought.The materialist conception of history breaks through all the existing paradigms of seeking the essence of history from outside material production,truly constructs a"philosophy of history"about the development of human society,and opens the right path for academic research.At present,in some studies,the phenomenon of weakening or even deflating the guiding significance of the materialist concept of history exists to varying degrees,which makes academic research become a cumbersome argumentation that abandons the exploration of the laws of history and is confined to the details of history.Based on the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the prosperous development of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics requires unswervingly adhering to and developing the materialist concept of history,utilizing the materialist concept of history to reveal the nature and laws of social history,and writing the history and biography of the people.
