Sculpting the Revolution:The Emotional Dimension of CPC History Research
The 20th-century Chinese revolution, particularly the great revolution led by the Communist Party of China, has many dimensions that can be deeply researched, with emotion being one of the important aspects. This is because the revolution consists of a series of fundamental moments.Presenting and reflecting on the revolution requires continual sculpting(adding, deleting,or reshaping)of these times. An abundance of historical materials provides the basic conditions for sculpting the revolution, and the historical process provides the basic patterns.Based on this foundation, contemplating and researching the history of emotions can continually make the revolutionary historical process, which is vast yet obscured, more concrete, enriched, expanded, and three-dimensional.This process in turn leads to a profound and compelling understanding of the revolutionary history among people.Research in this dimension needs to first concentrate on two topics:one regarding the representation of the emotional dimension in CPC historical research, and the other concerning how revolutionaries'lives manifest within this emotional dimension.
