Rethinking Habermas'Theory of Lifeworld's Colonization——From the Second-order Social Construct of"System-life world"
To make a pathological diagnosis of late capitalism,Habermas mainly starts from two aspects.Firstly,to explore whether there is a crisis in late capitalism and what is its manifestation, which concerns the problem of the legitimacy of late capitalism.Secondly,to explore the root of the crisis of late capitalism, which concerns the problem of lifeworld's colonization. Here, leaving aside the first question,as far as the second question is concerned, the second-order social construct of"system-lifeworld"is the basic framework of the theory of lifeworld's colonization;the erosion and control of the lifeworld by the system is the key to the theory of lifeworld's colonization;rebuilding the rationalization of the lifeworld based on communicative reason is the goal of the lifeworld's colonization theory.Habermas's theory of lifeworld's colonization provides a more explanatory analytical framework for examining late capitalism;to a certain extent,it reveals the root of the crisis of late capitalism, but it is also one-sided and powerless.Habermas's efforts to reconstruct the rationalization of the lifeworld which is based on communicative reason have not been successful, and it may even be suspected of defending late capitalism.
