物理符号系统假说在认知科学的发展史上起着举足轻重的作用,是一个集哲学、计算机科学、心理学、逻辑学为一体的交叉性假说.该假说用系统观思想将人类和计算机都置于符号系统中来考察,用符号来探究心智的本质,不仅是认知方法论的转折点,也打开了新的哲学研究视角.但是现代认知科学对心智的研究已逐渐转向精确化,那么该假说的价值是如何体现的?作为经典假说它又是如何通过范式融合而与时俱进的?所以时常审思经典假说对当代认知科学的发展来说具有重要的理论和实践意义.
On the Physical Symbol System Hypothesis of Mind,Machine and Symbolization form the Systematic Perspective
Physical symbol system hypothesis plays an important role in the history of cognitive sci-ence,which integrates philosophy,computer science,psychology and logic into an overlapping hypothe-sis.This hypothesis puts both human beings and computers in the physical symbol system with systems view,and uses symbols to explore the essence of mind.It is not only a turning point of cognitive method-ology,but also opens a new perspective of philosophical research.However,the study of the mind in mod-ern cognitive science has gradually turned to precision,so how is the value of this hypothesis reflected?As a classic hypothesis,how does it advance with the times through paradigm fusion?Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance for the development of contemporary cognitive science to examine the classic hypothesis from time to time.
