Ninety years ago,Mao Zedong personally investigated Caixi Township,a demonstrative township in the then Central Soviet Area,with a view of summarizing the advanced experience in Soviet construction,and wrote the Investigation of Caixi Township,a glo-rious document in the investigation and research history of the Communist Party of China(CPC)over a century.As a piece of classic works among Mao Zedong's investigation reports,the document was oriented towards addressing the realistic problems arising from the Soviet construction at the time and represented an inheritance and development of the research and investigative ideas of classical writ-ers and the tradition of investigation in ancient times in China.Centering on the"red political power-red military-red economy-red education"as the core approach,the report contains such great spirits of the CPC members as"seeking truth from facts,daring to be pioneers,making personal efforts and extensively soliciting public opinions".Today,these spirits still have great theoretical depth and practical power beyond time and space,and inspire us to"go deep into reality,deep at the grassroots level and deep among the masses"in the context of the new era.Specifically,we need to carry forward the excellent tradition of research and investigation,draw on the historical experience of grassroots construction,promote the sincere aspiration to serve the people,facilitate comprehensive Chi-nese-style modernization and advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
