A Pragmatic Study of German Climate Discourses under the Background of"Dual Carbon"Strategy
This study is grounded in the overarching context of"dual carbon"strategy and based on the presupposition from pragmatic perspective and speech act theory. With the help of specialized corpus tools,a"Federal Government's Speech Corpus on Climate Is-sues"was compiled.Through a comprehensive application of quantitative and qualitative research methods, the pragmatic strategies of German climate discourses were interpreted at the lexical, syntactic, and text levels. The study found that the German government's speeches on climate issues realized the spread of its discourse ideology within the climate field, elucidated its stance on addressing cli-mate change, expanded and consolidated its climate discourse power, and enhanced its international leadership and soft power. In terms of promotion mode, the German government implemented image-building and emotion-transmitting strategies through presup-position triggers, which reinforced the influence of its climate discourses. Finally, several suggestions were provided for the construc-tion of China's climate discourse system.
