Food Communication and Cross-Cultural Adaptation of African Students in China in the"Internet Plus"Era
This study explores the individualized representation of food as a material and a cultural symbol in the"Internet plus"era,in terms of cultural behavior mapping,of cultural identity recognition, and of the construction of multicultural social interaction. In this text,"food"refers not only to specific food items but also encompasses behaviors related to obtaining and consuming food.It has been found that African students build a social life interaction chain through food consumption on the Internet, which leads to changes in their social identity and adjustments in their social relationships."Food"plays an important role as"cultural adhesive",making Chi-nese and African university students consciously generate a"sense of unity among all citizens"in their daily emotional interaction.By deeply analyzing the construction process of food culture identity in the new era, this paper provides some insights for considering the social integration path of foreigners in China and forging a consciousness of constructing a shared future for mankind.
