Time and chirp rate synchronization method of bistatic wideband imaging radar
Bistatic wideband imaging radar generates time synchronization errors and chirp rate errors due to different sources. To address this issue, for low-cost and miniaturized radar receivers, synchronization methods are designed. To solve the time synchronization problem, the nonuniformity time synchronization scheme with transmitting and receiving pulse width triggered by direct wave is proposed, which is using direct-wave-to trigger receive window enable moments, while increasing the receive window length and low-pass matching filtering to complete the time synchronization. To solve the chirp rate synchronization problem,it is proposed to estimate the chirp rate frequency error using Lv's distribution, and to further compensate it to complete the chirp rate synchronization. The time and chirp synchronization method basically does not need to increase the receiver hardware cost and can be adapted to the miniaturized receiving radar's requirements.Based on the small wideband radar to build indoor bistatic wideband radar model, the experimental validation is conducted to realize the bistatic radar synchronization as well as data acquisition and imaging. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
