Design method of restricted Walker constellation for global rapid revisit
The occurrence of hot spot events such as natural disasters and military conflicts often exhibits randomness in terms of location. Therefore,it is necessary to enhance the rapid revisit capability of sparse constellations with specific task backgrounds, such as reconnaissance and detection,on a global scale.Based on the concept of restricted Walker constellation, which constrains the range of right ascension of ascending nodes uniformly distributed within specific numerical intervals. The conventional walker constellation is reconstructed and a design method for constellation is proposed to achieve rapid revisit capability on a global scale. Then the optimization problem is designed with the maximum time resolution minimization as the optimization objective, and the optimal restricted Walker constellation configuration is solved by differential evolution algorithm.Simulation results show that the restricted Walker constellation designed by the proposed method is superior to the conventional Walker constellation and the constellation proposed in the existing literature in terms of discontinuous coverage performance.
