Effect of Adenoid Plasma Ablation on Chronic Secretory Otitis Media in Children
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of adenoid plasma ablation for secretory otitis media in chil-dren.Methods 60 cases of children with chronic secretory otitis media admitted to Liuha District People's Hospital of Nanjing City from January 2020 to July 2023 were selected as study subjects, and were divided into the control group(n=30,naso-endoscopic adenoidectomy)and the observation group(n=30,low-temperature plasma adenoid ablation treatment)by random number table method. The surgical and postoperative recovery indexes, inflammatory factor lev-els and complication rates were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, the amount of bleeding was lower than that of the control group, and the time of tinnitus disappearance, hearing recovery, and middle ear effusion were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After surgery, tumor necrosis factor-α,interleu-kin-6 and interleukin-2 were lower in the observation group than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total complication rate of the observation group(3.33%)was lower than that of the control group(26.67%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.706,P<0.05).Conclusion Ad-enoid plasma ablation for secretory otitis media in children has definite effect, short operation time and little injury, which is conducive to postoperative recovery of patients, mild inflammatory reaction and low risk of complications.
