Comparison of the Efficacy of Exclusive Enteral Nutrition Combined with Azathioprine and Vedolizumab to Induce Remission in Crohn's Disease
Objective To compare the efficacy of exclusive enteral nutrition(EEN)combined with azathioprine(AZA)and vedolizumab(VDZ)in inducing remission in Crohn's disease(CD).Methods Retrospective analyzed the clinical data of 17 cases of Crohn's disease patients admitted to the First People's Hospital of Foshan City from January 2020 to December 2022,which were divided into two groups according to the different treatments,8 cases in the EEN+AZA group and 9 cases in the VDZ group, and the EEN+AZA group was treated with EEN combined with azathioprine in-duction therapy for 12 weeks, and the 13th to 22nd weeks Semi-enteric nutrition + azathioprine was used, and vedoli-zumab induction therapy was used in the VDZ group.Clinical response and remission were assessed by Crohn's Dis-ease Activity Index(CDAI),and endoscopic response and remission were assessed by Simplified Endoscopic Score for Crohn's Disease(SES-CD).Results After treatment, the CDAI scores of the two groups were compared, and the differ-ence was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The SES-CD score of the EEN+AZA group after treatment was(2.60±1.04)points,which was lower than that of the VDZ group(3.90±1.90)points,but the difference was not statistically significant(t=1.716,P>0.05).Conclusion Exclusive enteral nutrition combined with azathioprine treatment for 22 weeks and VDZ treatment for 22 weeks can both achieve clinical remission and endoscopic response in patients with Crohn's disease, the efficacy of the two is comparable.
