Efficacy and Safety of Chaiqin Qingqiao Decoction in Treating Secretory Otitis Media
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chaiqin Qingqiao Decoction in treating secretory otitis media.Methods A total of 80 patients with secretory otitis media admitted to the Otolaryngology Department of the Fifth Medical Center of Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital from August 2021 to August 2022 were selected as the study objects,and were randomly divided into control group and observation group according to com-puter software,with 40 cases in each group.The control group took ambroxol hydrochloride orally,and the observation group took Chaiqin Qingqiao Decoction orally on the basis of the control group.After 2 weeks of treatment,the clinical effective rate,mean hearing threshold of pure tone of qi conduction,TCM symptom score,changes of inflammatory fac-tors and incidence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups of patients.Results After 2 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the con-trol group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The score of hearing symptoms in groups was de-creased,and the observation group was lower than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of inflammatory factors in both groups were significantly decreased,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-2(IL-2),interleukin-8(IL-8)in observation group were significantly lower than those in con-trol group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).During treatment,no serious adverse reactions occurred between the two groups of patients,and there was no statistical significance in the incidence of adverse reac-tions between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of secretory otitis media,Chaiqin Qin-gqiao Decoction can effectively improve the therapeutic effect,improve clinical symptoms,reduce inflammation,and less adverse reactions.
