Efficacy of Propranolol Combined with Methimazole in the Treatment of Hyperthyroidism Patients and Its Effect on the Levels of Bone Metabolism Indicators
Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of the application of propranolol combined with methimazole in the treatment of patients with hyperthyroidism and the improvement of metabolic indexes in patients.Methods 80 cases of hyperthyroidism treated at Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture Friendship Hospital from January 2020 to De-cember 2022 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into a control group and an observation group using numerical arrangement method.Among them,40 patients treated with methimazole were selected as the control group,and 40 patients treated with propranolol in addition to the control group were selected as the observation group.The therapeutic efficacy,thyroid function,bone metabolism levels,and adverse drug reactions of the two groups were evaluated.Results The treatment effectiveness rate in the observation group was 96.00%higher than that in the con-trol group(77.50%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=7.314,P<0.05).After treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group had lower levels of serum free thyroxine(FT4),serum free triiodothyro-nine(FT3),triiodothyronine(T3),thyroxine(T4),and higher levels of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),and the dif-ferences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the bone metabolism data of the observation group was more ideal,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).Conclu-sion The combination of propranolol and methimazole in the treatment of hyperthyroidism has better efficacy,which can promote the recovery of thyroid hormone and bone metabolism expression of the patients,and the safety is high,which has important application value.
