Progress of EDAMS Vascular Fusion in the Treatment of Moyamoya Dis-ease
Moyamoya disease(MMD)is a type of cerebrovascular disease with unclear pathogenesis. It is character-ized by long-term progressive obstruction or stenosis of both internal carotid arteries, anterior cerebral arteries and middle arteries, and the formation of malformed vascular network in the cranial cavity, which makes the diseased vas-cular network appear as"smoke",and is therefore called"moyamoya disease".Currently, most of the treatments for MMD are indirect or direct revascularization,or combined with surgery, but the results and prognosis are still contro-versial.Based on this, this article provides a review of the research progress in the treatment of moyamoya disease us-ing encephalo-duro-arterio-myo-synangiosis(EDAMS)vascular fusion.
