Significance of PCT,hs-CRP,ESR and Peripheral Blood Cell Count Com-bined in Screening for Pediatric Acute Bacterial Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
Objective To analyze the significance of procalcitonin(PCT),high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)in combination with peripheral blood cell count in the screening of pediat-ric acute bacterial upper respiratory tract infection. Methods A total of 100 children diagnosed with acute bacterial upper respiratory tract infection in children from the Shandong Sishui County People's Hospital from January to De-cember 2022 were selected as the observation group, and 100 healthy children from the physical examination center of the hospital were selected as the control group.PCT,hs-CRP,ESR and peripheral blood cell counts were compared between the two groups. To analyze the diagnostic value of PCT,hs-CRP,ESR and peripheral blood cell count in chil-dren with acute bacterial upper respiratory tract infection. Results In the observation group, leukocyte count(8.41±1.42)×109/L,neutrophil ratio(86.26±5.21)%,neutrophil count(4.29±1.23)×109/L,hs-CRP(18.34±3.31)mg/L,ESR(18.62±3.95)mm/h,PCT(5.21±1.98)ng/mL were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(t=15.889,19.369,12.370,44.844,29.563,24.047,all P<0.05).The sensitivity and specificity of the combined detection of the four indexes were the highest, reaching 89.0%and 88.0%.Conclusion The combination of PCT,hs-CRP,ESR and peripheral blood cell count has high value in screening for pediatric acute bacterial upper respiratory tract infection.
