Expression and Significance of IL-32 and Apaf-1 Proteins in Gastric Can-cer Tissues
Objective To analyze the expression and significance of interleukin-32(IL-32)and apoptotic protease ac-tivating factor-1(Apaf-1)in gastric cancer tissues. Methods The clinical data of 100 gastric cancer patients admitted to Nantong Cancer Hospital was retrospectively selected, and their gastric cancer tissue specimens(gastric cancer group)and normal gastric mucosa specimens(paracarcinoma group)were taken respectively. The positive expression of IL-32 and Apaf-1 proteins in gastric cancer specimens and normal specimens were detected by immunohistochem-istry streptavidin-perosidase(SP).Results The positive expression rate of IL-32 in the gastric cancer group was higher than that of paracarcinoma group, and the positive expression rate of Apaf-1 protein was lower compared with that of the paraneoplastic group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There were statistically sig-nificant differences in IL-32 and Apaf-1 protein-positive expression rates between high and medium differentiation degree and low differentiation degree, between infiltration depth<muscular layer and≥muscular layer, between TNM stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ and stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ,and between with and without lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer patients(all P<0.05).Conclusion The positive expression of IL-32 and Apaf-1 protein can provide important reference value for clinical diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer patients.
