Efficacy of Methylprednisolone Combined with Azithromycin in the Treat-ment of Severe Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia in Children and the Effect of T-cell Subpopulations
Objective To explore the effect of methylprednisolone combined with azithromycin in the treatment of se-vere mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(SMPP)in children. Methods A total of 80 cases of pediatric SMPP patients admitted to Xinyi People's Hospital from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to the randomized numerical table method with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given azithromycin treatment, and the observation group was treated with azithromycin combined with methylpred-nisolone.The efficacy, the time of symptom disappearance, the level of inflammatory factors and T-cell subpopula-tions between the two groups were compared. Results The effective rate of observation group was 95.00%,which was higher than that of control group(75.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.804,P<0.05).The time of symptom disappearance in observation group was earlier than that in control group, and the difference was sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,interleukin-6 and CD8+ in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the level of CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of glucocorticoids improved the efficacy of SMPP,alleviated the clinical symptoms of children and improved the immune level of children.
