Clinical Effects of Gamma Globulin Combined with Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate Treatment in Children with Severe Viral Encephalitis
Objective To analyze the effect of treatment of severe viral encephalitis in children with gamma globulin combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate. Methods A total of 86 children with severe viral encephalitis treated in Jilin City Children's Hospital from November 2021 to July 2023 were selected as the study objects and were divided into two groups according to the random number table method with 43 cases in each group. The conventional group was treated with dexamethasone, and the study group was treated with gamma globulin combined with methyl-prednisolone sodium succinate on the basis of the conventional group, and the therapeutic effect of the two groups was compared. Results The effective rate of the study group was 93.02%,which was higher than that of the conventional group(74.42%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.460,P=0.019).The improvement time of symp-toms such as convulsion, fever, disturbance of consciousness, meningeal irritation and intracranial irritation in the study group were shorter than that in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The nerve function deficit score, the levels of the nerve growth factor and neuron specific enolase in the study group were better than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The levels of interleukin-6 and γ-interferon in the study group were better than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion For children with severe viral encephalitis, the use of gamma globulin combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate for treatment can improve the neurologi-cal function of the children, and can reduce the inflammatory reaction of the children, with remarkable therapeutic effi-cacy.
