Analysis of the Application Value of Serum C-reactive Protein and WBC Level Tests in Pediatric Fever
Objective To observe the value of serum C-reactive protein(CRP)and white blood cell(WBC)level test in pediatric fever diagnosis. Methods 80 cases of febrile children attending Xuzhou Children's Hospital from Novem-ber 2022 to November 2023 were selected as the reasearch object and set as the observation group, and the children were divided into the bacterial infection group(40 cases)and the non-bacterial infection group(40 cases)according to the results of the test. And 20 cases of healthy children in the same period were selected as the control group, all of them were tested for serum CRP and WBC levels, and the results of WBC and CRP were compared. Results The WBC(15.23±4.31)×109/L and CRP level(24.37±4.15)mg/L of the observation group were higher than those of the control group after the test, and the differences were statistically significant(t=9.2326,24.8817,both P<0.05).WBC and CRP were higher in the bacterial infection group compared to the non-bacterial infection group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion Serum CRP and WBC levels can be used for the identification of bacterial and non-bacterial infections.
